Meramec Energy Center Ash Pond Closures – St. Louis County, MO

Reitz & Jens has served as design and quality control engineer during planning, design, and construction of ash pond and coal pile closures at the Meramec Energy Center in St. Louis County, MO.  Prepared construction plans and specifications to close five ash ponds and two coal piles.  Conducted civil engineering designs for mass grading, closure caps, access roads, security fencing and stormwater features.  Included a storm/wastewater treatment basin with an outfall pipe jack-and-bored under the Union Pacific mainline railroad.  As CQA Engineer provided observation and testing services during all phases of ash pond closures.
