AIT Barracks, Phase 2 and the Rappel Tower – Ft. Sill, OK

Completed geotechnical investigation and provided recommendations for the AIT Barracks, Phase 2 and Rappel Tower at Ft. Sill, OK.  The geotechnical investigation provided recommendations for the development of two new 3-story barracks and steel rappel tower. The subsurface investigation consisting of twenty-six (26) borings and a field resistivity survey.  Recommended design parameters for straight-shaft drilled piers that included side load transfer, end bearing, lateral loading and deflections, load vs deflection curves, effects of settlement, group effects and construction recommendations.  Also provided recommendations for mitigation of potentially swelling soils, shallow foundations, grade beams, collapsible forms, seismic design parameters, pavements and earthwork.
