At Reitz & Jens, we work with both public and private clients on a broad range of civil engineering assignments. As a result, we primarily recruit professional engineers or engineers in training with experience in geotechnical, water resources or environmental engineering. Our staff also includes GIS/CAD operators, and laboratory and field technicians.
The qualities we look for include:
Self-motivation – We look for personnel who are self-starters, can take responsibility and manage their time well. This is important because our staff often works independently.
Professional competence — We prefer professionals with hands-on experience, who are adept at analyzing problems, and who exercise sound judgment in creating solutions.
Communication skills — Our professionals not only engineer solutions, they are often responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with other members of a project team, including our clients, other consultants and contractors. To be effective, personnel must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Project management skills – Our professionals must be prepared to organize and juggle multiple priorities and assignments. We look for people who are skilled at working with others at all levels of an organization.
